YOU WILL NEED
- Felt
- Tracing paper
- Large wool/darning needle
- Thick embroidery thread
- Buttons, etc
- Wool
- Scissors
- Pen
Place tracing paper on table, place hand on top and simply trace around the hand. Before cutting out, add a generous allowance for the seam (about 2 cm).
Take felt and cut 2 sheets, laying on top of each other. Draw the shape onto the felt and cut out. Thread the needle with the red embroidery thread and sew a red mouth onto one shape. Sew or glue two eyes onto the face also. Then using another color thread, sew around the entire shape in running stitch, leaving the bottom open for the hand. (Child may need a little help getting started with knots etc) For the hair, cut short lengths of wool and stitch through the top of the glove and knot (again, adult help may be required).
Stitch a row of buttons down the centre.
